In this interview, 40 y/o Linda shared her fitness journey after completing the Lean Legs 1 Program two times! She is a clinical psychologist and a mom of 2 based in Scotland.

LINDA’S REVIEW OF THE LEAN LEGS 1 PROGRAM

1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

LINDA: I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am 40 and have two children, a 3 year old and an 8 month old.

I’m a clinical psychologist but currently on maternity leave.

I’ve always enjoyed sport and fitness. I’ve been a figure skater since childhood and only stopped when I was pregnant with my first child.
After baby 2 arrived I wanted a way to get back to my pregnant weight and size that didn’t exhaust me and was manageable with young children.

I really wanted to get my legs slimmer because I gained a lot of weight there during my pregnancies, but I couldn’t get back to skating until the children are older.

2. Did you know your body type before starting our program? Did finding out your body type change your fitness routine?

LINDA: I hadn’t heard of body types before, so this was news to me. I found it fascinating and it made so much sense. Learning about my body type changed the way I thought about exercise.

Previously I would have worked super hard doing intense cardio and weights.
I was exhausted after every exercise session and the weight loss was slow and I never achieved the body shape I wanted.

3. What was your fitness routine before you started the program? What made you change it?

LINDA: Before having children I did figure skating 2-3 times per week and went to the gym to do extra cardio and weights.

After baby 1 I did a lot of HIIT, weights, and cross-training. I was so tired after every workout as I was postpartum and breastfeeding, but it was the only way I knew to exercise.

My upper body slimmed down back to my pre-baby size, but my legs stayed bigger and my jeans always felt tight.

I gained weight again in my second pregnancy and after baby 2 arrived I wanted a more enjoyable form of exercise to help me get back into my clothes and wanted something that would slim down my legs.

I Googled exercise to slim thighs and found this program. I was a bit skeptical at first because it seemed too good to be true, but I’m glad to say I was pleasantly surprised!

I loved the program, I looked forward to the exercise sessions, I wasn’t exhausted afterwards, and it was great (and easy) to get out for walks with baby in the pram.

4. WHAT is your diet like? Can you tell us what you typically eat in a day?

LINDA: I’ve always eaten a healthy, balanced diet.
But I hadn’t appreciated the importance of getting the right proportions of carbs and protein before.

I used to start the day with cereal, have a sandwich for lunch, and then a pasta or rice dish for dinner.

Now, I make sure to have protein with every meal and I try to make sure my snacks are protein based rather than carbs.

I didn’t follow the meal plan for the program rigidly as I’m breastfeeding and didn’t want to restrict things my body wanted. But I did switch out a lot of my old snack and meal options for ideas from the meal plan and definitely noticed the benefit of it.

5. When did you first start seeing results and how did you feel?

LINDA: I first noticed results after about 7 weeks. I did the LLP1 twice, and definitely halfway through the second round I found that suddenly things had changed. I had to switch back to my old clothes rather than maternity ones.

6. What was your absolute favorite part of the program and why? 

LINDA: I loved the walking and the resistance training. Walking is such a great way to get cardio without feeling exhausted afterward, instead, I always felt energised. The resistance training really made me feel stronger, which surprised me as it never felt too difficult!

7. How did you feel after finishing the program?

LINDA: I am so happy with the results. I plan to continue this exercise plan I can’t see myself going back to my old ways.

This program fits into a busy lifestyle with little kids and I know I’ll still be able to do it once I go back to work.

8. What would be your advice for other women who are about to start their fitness journey?

LINDA: I would say go for it and trust the process! Walking really does burn fat better than any other type of exercise and it feels great too.

KATIE’S REVIEW OF THE LEAN LEGS 1 PROGRAM

1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

KATIE: I am 24 years old from Northern Ireland. I am a Microbiology Lab Technician for a dairy company and I have been into fitness for most of my life (on and off).

I am currently planning my wedding for 2024 so this was my main aim for beginning a new exercise programme.

2. Did you know your body type before starting our program? Did finding out your body type changed your fitness routine?

KATIE: No I didn’t know there were names for different body types and this has benefited me greatly. I now know the kinds of exercises my body type likes.

3. What was your fitness routine before you started the program? What made you change it?

KATIE: I was big into Les Mills programme and classes inspired by them such as Bodyattack, Bodypump and Body Combat. I also was weight lifting as well.

The main reason I wanted to change is that my body shape was starting to change in a way I didn’t like.

My legs were getting bigger and my jeans did not fit the way they use to. They would be so tight around my legs.

I wanted a program to specifically focus on slimming my legs and lose weight all over but without the bulk.

4. WHAT is your diet like? Can you tell us what you typically eat in a day?

KATIE: My diet was terrible before I started the program, before my current role as a lab technician I had an office job where I drank tea all day and snacked a lot and the weight went on very quickly.

Currently, I like to eat between the hours of 12 PM and 8 PM as this works well with my schedule, I would start my day having two slices of whole meal sourdough bread with two eggs and a cup of tea.

Then I would have Greek yogurt with a selection of fruit usually strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, or banana.

Then I would eat a homemade honey chilli chicken with peppers and rice.

5. When did you first start seeing results and how did you feel?

KATIE: I didn’t realize I had made any progress until I compared photos at 4 weeks with the first ‘before’ photos I took so I cannot stress enough to anybody starting on a journey to take photos as it is so rewarding to look back on.

I really noticed at week 6 of the program the biggest change in my thighs and I was able to put jeans on that I hadn’t been able to get on in over a year, I was honestly shook (in a great way), it was the best feeling in the world.

6. What was your absolute favorite part of the program and why? 

KATIE: The workouts didn’t leave me feeling exhausted or fatigued the way other past workouts I’ve done have. I liked the schedule to follow as it helped me stay on track.

I loved the core workouts, I always hated core workouts until I started this programme.

7. How did you feel after finishing the program?

KATIE: I feel amazing and confident in my body.

I am so amazed that I can get jeans on that I hadn’t had on in over a year and I will definitely be completing another round.

8. What would be your advice for other women that are about to start their fitness journey?

KATIE: Take photos!! And don’t give up, the results may take a few weeks to show but stick at it and you’ll feel on top of the world.

And also don’t beat yourself up if you do miss a day or your eating hasn’t been great. Just take it from the next day and don’t stress over it.

NICOLE’S REVIEW OF THE LEAN LEGS 2 & FLAT TUMMY PROGRAMS

1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

NICOLE: I live in Las Vegas, 28, I’m a full-time project manager and own a business on the side.

I was once a college and professional volleyball player but only started exercise for personal health and goals after I retired at 23.

Very busy with work and a business but I’m sedentary all day for both so exercise has served as my movement for the day.

NICOLE: No. It absolutely changed my fitness routine.

3. What was your fitness routine before you started the program? What made you change it?

NICOLE: Playing volleyball and after that, I took fitness classes like hot Pilates, cycling and yoga.

4. WHAT is your diet like? Can you tell us what you typically eat in a day?

NICOLE: Now much cleaner! I don’t limit myself calorie wise, only portion size wise and I try to eat whole foods and a pescatarian diet.

Breakfast is usually oatmeal or avocado toast and fruit.
Lunch is typically a salad or something light and dinner is something heavier like a salmon protein bowl.
I have dessert almost everyday though I couldn’t give up my chocolate and ice cream!

5. When did you first start seeing results and how did you feel?

After 4 weeks I start seeing results and it motivated me to go all in :)

6. What was your absolute favorite part of the program and why? 

NICOLE: The flexibility!

Knowing a walk was a part of my routine everyday made it manageable if I couldn’t do a resistance exercise that day and I still felt like I was accomplishing something.

It was very easy to build my schedule around and knowing the workouts were quick made it mentally easier to do knowing I wouldn’t have to spend 2 hours in a gym to finish.

NICOLE: Strong, confident and sexy!

8. What would be your advice for other women that are about to start their fitness journey?

NICOLE: Give it at least 2-3 weeks consistently. It may feel intimidating at first but it starts to become more maintainable and something to look forward to each day.

Make the program work for you and remember why you started! It’s a lifestyle not a chore :)

CHAYA’S REVIEW OF THE LEAN LEGS 1 PROGRAM

1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

CHAYA: Hi, my name is Chaya, and I’m from Zürich, Switzerland. I’m 39 years old and work as a marketing manager.

I’ve been into fitness for more than a year. I was always skinny, but over the years, I gained some weight and became skinny fat. It was time to do something about that.

First, I started with running, and then I tried the 12-3-30 method for a couple of weeks. Not seeing the results I wanted, I switched to heavy weight lifting for 5 months. However, my legs became very bulky, and I didn’t feel good in my body. At that time, my weight was 60 kg.

Feeling kind of desperate, I looked for a solution to get slimmer legs and lower body fat. That’s when I found Rachel’s Lean Legs program in February this year. My body started transforming quickly. The quick progress I saw kept me motivated. Thanks to the program, I learned what my body type was.

Also, I started to eat right (80/20) and the right amount to see quick results. I counted calories but stopped and now listen to my body and its needs.

Thanks to Narelle and Rachel, I got into the best shape of my life :)
By now, I have completed two rounds of LLP1 and reached my goals (slimming down my legs and toning up my body) thanks to that :) Today I am 5 kg down and started this week with LLP2.

I finally feel great in my body! THANK YOU!!

To all women who struggle with self-love and how they feel about their bodies, I really recommend this program.

4. WHAT is your diet like? Can you tell us what you typically eat in a day?

CHAYA: I‘m vegan and I love to eat healthy. I follow the 80-20 rule. The times calorie counting are over and no more struggle with „bad“ food. I usually have a protein banana shake for breakfast. For lunch/dinner I have most of the time vegetables, tofu and whole grains.

5. When did you first start seeing results and how did you feel?

After 4 weeks I start seeing results and it motivated me to go all in :)

6. What was your absolute favorite part of the program and why? 

CHAYA: I loved the way Narelle and Rach kept me motivated through the program. My favorite part was stretching after resistance training, and I love to get 10k steps in most of the days.

In this interview, I chatted with one of my OG customers, Nicoletta! She’s been following my programs since 2018!

NICOLETTA’S REVIEW OF THE LEAN LEGS 1 PROGRAM

1. WERE YOU INTO FITNESS AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE BEFORE STARTING MY PROGRAM? DID YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ESTABLISHED FITNESS ROUTINE? IF SO, WHAT MADE YOU CHANGE IT?

NICOLETTA: Funnily enough, I was very into fitness! I was exercising every day and trying to follow a strictly low-carb diet (with cheat days on weekends 😋 ).

In the beginning, I had tried doing HIIT workouts paired with crazy calorie restrictions (900-1,200 cal a day) and got very skinny. But I wasn’t happy with it because the calorie consumption was unsustainable and I had lost all my curves in the process!

After that, I tried eating more and started lifting heavy weights in an attempt to increase the size of my glutes. However, instead of looking leaner, my legs were just getting bulkier by the day, especially around my tights. For some reason, the exercises I was doing were just making my tights look thicker without helping me lose fat and I was looking ‘chunkier’ overall.

I was really confused as I would see other girls on social media with amazing glutes and very thin legs performing the same exercises! But for some reason, I looked very different to them. It got to a point where I was finding it hard to fit in my trousers and was starting to get negative comments from family members who were concerned about me because they could see I was putting in a lot of work but I just seemed to be getting bigger by the day. This was when I decided to browse the web for a way to slim down my legs (as this was my problem area). All I wanted was to look slimmer but without losing my curvy shape.

2. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THE LEAN LEGS PROGRAM? (BTW, WHEN DID YOU START MY PROGRAM? I KNOW IT MUST BE YEARS NOW! I BEEN THINKING 2018?)

NICOLETTA: It came up first on a Google search on “how to slim my legs”. I was desperate and it seemed to be the only program out there targeting exactly what I wanted (I still think it is!).

I bought it back in 2018 without really thinking it twice and I have never used any other fitness program since. If there is ever a time of the year when I am not on your program it just means I am not exercising altogether 😂.

3. WHAT IS YOUR BODY TYPE? DID YOU KNOW YOUR BODY TYPE BEFORE STARTING THE LEAN LEGS PROGRAM? 

NICOLETTA: I did know my body type, I am an endomorph. At times I was angry at being an endomorph because I felt I needed to work harder than other body types just to keep in good shape. A lot of people would comment on how “thick” I was for the amount of exercise I was doing and I would blame it on my genetics.

However, deep down I knew that I had the potential to have the best shape of my life if only I could make my constitution work in my favour for once!!!! I was on the hunt for the body of my dreams, and it was waiting for me (hiding under all my body fat 😉).  I already had the curves, I just needed to shape them!

4. WHAT MADE YOU CONVINCED LEAN LEGS PROGRAM WAS THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOU?

NICOLETTA: The truth is that I was so desperate that I didn’t really give myself time to deliberate whether it was going to work or not. I just bought it on the heat of the moment and got to work right away.

I had already been doing all the “hardcore” stuff for 4 years before getting my hands on your program and had tried pretty much everything there is out there and it hadn’t delivered the results I wanted. As far as I was concerned, walking was not something I had tried before, so I knew I would get a different result and that was good enough for me.

I believed it was going to work but my real concern was to manage my expectations because I wanted to achieve a smaller body frame overall but didn’t know how far my body would go. The progress pictures looked so different for everyone because no bodies are the same and at the time there weren’t any starting pictures that I could identify with, so it was hard to predict what my final look would be like.

Rachael, your legs were such an inspiration to me but they felt so intangible at the time because my starting point was so different and we have opposite constitutions! Let me tell you the results exceeded my expectations!! For all girls reading, none of us will look the same but you will definitely look like the best version of yourself if what you are looking to achieve is to slim down!

5. WAS THE LEAN LEGS PROGRAM EASY TO FOLLOW?

NICOLETTA: It was hard work (I was sore just from the walking!!!! Yes, I know, that was so unexpected)… and I wouldn’t say it was sustainable at first, mainly because of my work. I am an aid worker and my job requires me to travel a lot. In the beginning, I found it hard to keep up with the walks, the diet, and the workouts at all times, especially when not having access to a treadmill.

But a month after starting the programme I had to travel to Nepal for one of the most wonderful 6-month experiences of my life, working on a food security programme. I remember taking my ankle weights with me and doing the workout from my room and trying to get my steps in the villages I was visiting or by walking to the office (which was a 40-minute dusty walk as not all roads are paved in Kathmandu!). Let’s be honest, I was just living my best life in Asia but I still found time to do lots of walking (and doing the workout from my room)!

6. WHEN DID YOU FIRST START SEEING RESULTS? HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU NOTICED THOSE FIRST RESULTS?

NICOLETTA: I started noticing results after round 1 (when I was in Nepal)! After I got back, I decided to start round 2 of your program, and this time I was following all of your advice even more closely. Before even finishing the second round (done properly), I had already the best shape I have ever had and that is when I sent you my progress photos.

NICOLETTA: It made me love the way I looked! My legs were so sexy and thin and my butt was so round and lifted, even more than I could achieve lifting heavy weights! I just couldn’t believe the results and wanted to see how far I could go! It seemed that the more I did the better my body got and the more feminine it looked. 

7. DO YOU STILL FOLLOW THE LEAN LEGS PROGRAM OR SOME ASPECTS OF IT?

NICOLETTA: I lost count of how many rounds I have done! But I would say I probably 3 rounds done properly and I just started my 4th round now. By properly I mean fully following your 3 recommended steps: 1) diet plan, 2)workouts, and 3) walks + runs. My best body shape is when I follow your program with its 3 components, I can notice the difference in my abs, I have a much smaller waist and definition in my core.

I have been able to maintain thin legs over the years just by walking but as we all know, when I don’t do anything to stay toned, I start looking skinny fat (welcome to the endomorph life!). For me keeping my legs thin has been good enough because is what I find the most sustainable. I have incorporated walks into my daily routine and I am lucky to live in a walkable city so I always opt for walks instead of using public transport. I also have a standing desk with a walking pad at home which helps a lot!

8. YOU SAID IN ONE OF YOUR MESSAGES THAT THE LEAN LEGS PROGRAM “WAS A GAME CHANGER”? (THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS! ❤) WHY DO YOU THINK SO? WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT COMPARED TO THE OTHER PROGRAMS OUT THERE?

NICOLETTA: It was a game changer for me because it allowed me to achieve the body shape of my dreams. It changed my life in the sense that I can now wear whatever I want and I am much more comfortable in summer (less chafing when wearing skirts and dresses)! Life is not about how you look but let’s be honest, IT HELPS!

9. I KNOW YOU RECENTLY JOINED MY NEW FEMME NATIVA APP! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT?

NICOLETTA: IT’S AMAZING!!!! But you have to remember that I am a veteran!

I started when the format of the Program was different (and harder to stay motivated!) The workouts at first were a PDF page with individual video demos on how to perform each exercise one by one (one video per exercise!). There wasn’t really a video with a full workout that you could follow. I remember having to do all the workouts by myself and struggling to get motivated! I still managed to do a full round of your program though (woop woop hurray! 🥳).

It’s so much better with the app! I no longer have an excuse to skip my workouts, the app is extremely user-friendly!

10. WOULD YOU RECOMMEND LEAN LEGS PROGRAM TO YOUR FRIENDS AND WHY? 

NICOLETTA: I have recommended it to ALL of my friends, and several of them have bought it and are currently doing it! The results are the main reason why I always recommend it.

Interestingly enough, not all my friends use it for the same reasons! I have an ectomorph friend who already naturally looks like a Victoria’s Secret model (so she doesn’t need to slim down anything in her body lol). But she still purchased your workout video program because it has helped her get toned and she finds it more efficient and ‘to the point’ than other programs. Your workout videos are indeed very effective and not too long compared to other stuff in the market!

I will say though that if you are ‘chunkier’, like me when I started, you will not see the results as fast as my ‘model body-like’ friend. Please be patient! Ultimately we are all queens and you just need to stay consistent! Please do not get demotivated, it may take longer at first to see the results but it is totally worth it!

11. ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD MAYBE LIKE TO SHARE? ANY TIPS FOR WOMEN WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT STARTING LL1? :)

DON’T THINK TWICE! Once you are in it, there is no going back. Just buy it!

I know looking good is not all that counts in life, and we all must learn to get our self-esteem and confidence from within but again ladiesssss trust me, it HELPS! Walking has also a TON of health benefits including mental health and I see myself walking until I am 100 years old!

Unlike other fitness routines, I think walking and swimming are the only activities that can be sustained for a lifetime without causing harm to your joints, etc. But to swim you need a pool and to walk you don’t need anything other than your legs! SO GET MOVING! lol…You can even get your steps at home! I see this also in terms of a lifetime investment for your mental health, this is the avenue ladies!

For my endomorph ladies, if you are not in love with your body (just yet), this program will make you fall in love with it! Endomorphs get results like nobody else because we have this naturally curvy shape and with our soft looks, uff! GORGEOUS! 

I also want to highlight that we are all beautiful the way we are! Some of us will have different body shapes and might like fuller or more muscular figures, if that is the case, this may not be the right way to train for you. I am only recommending it for those of us who love our curves but just want to look slender and toned ❤

In this interview, I chatted with 43 year old Laura from the United States. Being a marathoner in the past, Laura still manages to live an active lifestyle to this day. She says that she’s tried different programs and routines for the last 15 years, and enjoyed the Lean Legs Program 2 because of it’s low-impact and less stress on the body, nature.

1. Did you know your body type before doing our Body Type Quiz? Have you ever tried exercising according to your body type before you started the Lean Legs Program?

Laura: I did know my body type (I’m a mesomorph.) but I did not know how to exercise for my body type. I am only five feet tall and I used to run marathons. I spent years running sprints and lifting heavy weights trying to slim down. I was so frustrated because I worked harder than anyone I knew but I just kept getting bigger. I didn’t look fit at all and nobody would ever guess I was running 50+ miles/week in my before pictures.

2. What was your fitness routine before you started the program? What made you change it?

Laura: Distance running, sprints, heavy weights, HIIT. A major injury put a stop to running and lifting. I came across Rachael’s first program (Lean Legs 1) and thought it looked perfect because it was walking-based and low-impact.

3. Did you follow the meal plan?

Laura: Yes, I followed your vegan meal plan.

4. How did you find out about the program and what convinced you to try it out?

Laura: I can’t remember how but I first found Rachael in 2018! I remember thinking there was no way these workouts could slim my thighs but why not try?

5. When did you first start seeing results? How did you track your progress and how did you feel when you noticed those first results?

Laura: When I first started I could not walk fast at all (only 2.5mph) and I could only go for 30 minutes. So the first result I noticed was that I was able to increase my walking time and then my walking speed. That was really exciting for me! I noticed my body slimming down after about 6 weeks I think. I had taken before measurements and before pictures so I tracked my progress that way. I felt so shocked honestly when I saw the results. I’ve never had a slim body in my entire life!

6. What was your absolute favorite part of the lean legs program and why?

Laura: My absolute favorite part is that I can tell I’m getting healthier and more fit! I can walk faster & longer and that makes me really happy! And by far the best part is that I went from having osteopenia (on my way to osteoporosis) to having normal bone density! So I reversed osteopenia through walking and that to me is better than weight loss.

7. What was the most challenging part of the lean legs program? What motivated you to keep going?

Laura: Having the discipline to do the strength workouts, especially on the weekends, haha! The app is so motivating though. I am very motivated by checkmarks so having the satisfaction of checking off a workout after I’ve completed it kept me going. I don’t like to see a week that isn’t fully checked off :)

8. How did you feel after finishing the lean legs program? What are your goals for the future?

Laura: After the first round I could definitely see results so I went straight in to complete another round of LL2. I didn’t have much strength or stamina when I started so on this second round I’m able to put in a lot more effort. When I’m done with this round of the Lean Legs 2 Program I’m going to do the GAL (Glutes, Abs and Legs) program. My goal is to enjoy life. I have spent the last 15 years doing punishing workouts that left me miserable and injured. The Femme Nativa workouts are low stress and sustainable so that has freed up a lot of my energy. I don’t have to worry & obsess anymore, I get to enjoy my life!

9. How many rounds of the program did you do? (One round is 8 weeks)

Laura: 1.5 and still going!!

10. Are you happy with what you have achieved so far? How do you plan on continuing your fitness journey?

Laura: Thrilled with what I have achieved! I don’t have plans to ever stop these workout programs honestly. I think I’ll be doing them when I’m 70!

11. Would you recommend the program to your friends? Why? What makes it stand out?

Laura: Absolutely I recommend them! These workouts are sustainable. You can’t say that about anything else. You can also do the workouts anywhere. I followed the program while I was on a cruise even. Above all, it’s just an enjoyable way to move your body. 30 minutes, low stress, doesn’t flood my body with adrenaline and obviously, it works!

12. Do you have any advice for the girls that are about to start their fitness journey?

Laura: Don’t worry about following the program perfectly or missing a day. Just be consistent overall. In my life before LL2, I would stress SO MUCH if I ever missed a workout, like it was the end of the world. That mentality didn’t get my anywhere.

I’m thrilled that Laura found the Lean Legs Program is exciting and achievable. I know how hard it is to incorporate a routine, especially when you’ve experienced health conditions. All of our programs cater to different women, in all walks of life.

My programs are mostly low-impact so they don’t cause added stress and high cortisol, and all of them have been designed to help you tone up without getting bulky.

I loved hearing about Laura’s experience, and I love how our community inspires others to achieve results of their own.
