From the Hunger Games franchise, Silver Linings Playbook and Red Sparrow, Jennifer is one of the most recognized actresses in Hollywood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer&#8217;s also very <g class=\"gr_ gr_43 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"43\" data-gr-id=\"43\">passionat<\/g>e about body positivity. As you&#8217;ll see, she works out and eats pretty well. But she chooses to accept her curvy body, and I admire her body-positive attitude!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, Jennifer&#8217;s body has changed some. Sometimes, she needs to get stronger and tone up for a movie, and other times she&#8217;s looking more feminine and curvy. She can pull whatever look she chooses. I love how she stays true to herself during her fitness routines. She loves food (remember when she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mic.com\/articles\/84075\/jennifer-lawrence-eating-pizza-at-the-oscars-is-everything-we-ve-waited-for\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">brought pizza<\/a> to the Oscars?), and says she&#8217;d prefer to work harder in the gym in order be able to eat what she wants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She tries not to be too restrictive, and she says she struggles to work if she&#8217;s hungry at all. For example, when she&#8217;s craving a burger, she normally lets herself eat a burger. And you know that here we love a non-restrictive diet regime!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, she doesn&#8217;t just want junk food. She likes to eat healthily. On set, she likes to have Greek yogurt and veggies and hummus on hand in case she gets hungry. It&#8217;s all about balance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SHE STICKS TO SMART SNACKS!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer avoids gaining too much weight by indulging her sweet and salty tooth carefully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalton Wong, Jennifer&#8217;s former trainer, said that he tried to make sure that Jennifer had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elle.com\/beauty\/health-fitness\/news\/a34659\/jennifer-lawrence-fitness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">these snacks<\/a> on hand in case she got hungry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Air-popped popcorn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Celery and peanut butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cashews and blueberries <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full-fat Greek yogurt (full-fat has less sugar and is often more satisfying than 0% fat Greek yogurt) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Almond milk with protein powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hard-boiled eggs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dark chocolate (for when the sweet tooth strikes!) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coconut milk yogurt (to avoid the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/how-to-get-rid-of-bloating\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"bloating (opens in a new tab)\">bloating<\/a> that dairy often causes) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Veggies and hummus <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apples and walnut butter <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalton says that he didn&#8217;t recommend Jennifer eat granola bars. They are typically full of sugar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He always recommends picking whole foods even if they are slightly higher in calories. She doesn&#8217;t feel the need to binge a lot of food because she picks meals that will satisfy her cravings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she goes out to eat, she likes to pick a starter for a main course and split dessert with a loved one. Overeating isn&#8217;t for her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DIETING FOR RED SPARROW<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer was required to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"lose weight (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/6-unexpected-reasons-you-cant-lose-weight\/\" target=\"_blank\">lose weight<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/muscle-toning-vs-bulking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"tone up (opens in a new tab)\">tone up<\/a> for her role in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PmUL6wMpMWw\" target=\"_blank\">Red Sparrow<\/a>. After all, she was playing a ballet dancer! Preparing for this role was the first time she went through an intense diet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main thing that Jennifer did to prepare for the movie was to cut calories. Although she hasn&#8217;t shared how many calories she ate a day, she did say that she counted banana chips to make sure she wasn&#8217;t eating too many! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also made sure to eat lots of vegetables and lean protein like chicken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer filmed all of her ballet scenes at the beginning of the production process so that she didn&#8217;t have to <g class=\"gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del\" id=\"4\" data-gr-id=\"4\">diet<\/g> for too long. She really hated the process! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a aria-label=\"RELATD POST: HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR IDEAL CALORIE INTAKE (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/how-to-calculate-your-daily-calorie-intake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RELATD POST: HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR IDEAL CALORIE INTAKE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>JENNIFER LAWRENCE&#8217;S WORKOUT ROUTINE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer&#8217;s workout routine has changed over the years. She&#8217;s needed to do different types of workouts for different movies, and her interests have changed too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, Jennifer says she doesn&#8217;t love to exercise, but she&#8217;s willing to do it to stay healthy and to achieve the body that she wants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GETTING INTO EXERCISE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer credits her former trainer Dalton Wong for helping her understand a healthy, fun, and balanced approach for exercise. Dalton helped Jennifer get ready for the <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Jer8XjMrUB4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X-Men movies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, their plan was to:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do 20-30 minute morning runs to get the body moving.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do short, high-intensity workouts throughout the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use bodyweight so that Jennifer could workout anywhere, even when she traveled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>End every workout with something relaxing. It helps Jennifer to do yoga or some deep breathing to wind down. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get out in nature when Jennifer was feeling uninspired. A run or walk outside would help her get motivated for more! <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a similar format that Jennifer has used to workout ever since. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To prepare for other films, she&#8217;s done a similar mix of steady-state cardio, HIIT, and bodyweight workouts. She likes to do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/prefer-bodyweight-training-lifting-weights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"bodyweight exercises  (opens in a new tab)\">bodyweight exercises <\/a>that combine some strength training with skipping to get her heart rate up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elle.com\/beauty\/health-fitness\/news\/a34659\/jennifer-lawrence-fitness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">sample circuit routine<\/a> that Jennifer might do to target her abs and arms:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Weighted pushup (You can do this with just your bodyweight or with a resistance band too!) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curl and press<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Burpees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Side planks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other side<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sideways raise with a pulse <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other side<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High\/low plank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leg extensions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Torpedos (aka back bows) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Do each of these moves for 1 minute. Try cycling through this at least twice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you like this type of training, here are a few workouts similar to Jen&#8217;s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/full-body-fat-loss-workout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FULL BODY HIIT WORKOUT THAT WON&#8217;T ADD BULK<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FULL BODY HIIT FOR A LEAN BODY (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rachaelattard.com\/full-body-hiit-workout-slim-toned-body\/\" target=\"_blank\">FULL BODY HIIT FOR A LEAN BODY<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TRAINING FOR RED SPARROW<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer worked hard to get ready for this movie! She trained for four months for 5 days a week with Kurt Froman, a ballet expert and trainer who also worked with Natalie Portman&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mila Kunis&nbsp;on&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwaydancecenter.com\/faculty\/kurt-froman\" target=\"_blank\">Black Swan<\/a>. Each training session with Kurt would last for four hours! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After training with Kurt, Jennifer would go to a one-on-one Pilates session with trainer <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kitrich.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kit Rich<\/a>. Together, they&#8217;d train for 90 minutes. Kit helped Jennifer tone her muscles and create a really<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bf9E_ksHwOZ\/?taken-by=fitbykit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"> lean, long look<\/a> common with ballet dancers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FLEXIBLE AND HARD WORKING<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer Lawrence is one of those super relatable celebrities that just seems fun to be around. She&#8217;s honest about what she likes (pizza!) and dislikes (being hungry!). We have all have things about our fitness journeys that we dislike, and I appreciate her honesty!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Jennifer&#8217;s also been willing to put her body through really hard things (like 5.5 hours of training!) to be a better actor and to feel healthy.
