Obliques are part of the four main muscles of your abdominals. The inner and outer obliques run down the sides of your body and you can tone and define them relatively easily if you follow the right type of exercise.

Pilates is a style of workout that focuses on strengthening your entire body but especially your core. Doing pilates or pilates inspired workouts is a great way to tone your obliques.

Having toned abs (and a strong core) doesn’t have only aesthetic benefits. Strengthening your core improves your balance and stability, prevents fall and injury, helps you perform exercises properly (and avoid any injuries that could happen) and reduces back problems.

So if you’re looking to get all of the benefits of having a strong core, this obliques workout with some Pilates inspired moves will target the sides of your abs, and your upper body too!

How to Do the Circuit:

  • Do each exercise for 10-15 reps (don’t forget to switch sides for the one-sided exercises!)
  • Complete 2-3 rounds with as little rest as possible
