A good posture is, in seated position, feet flat on the floor, your weight even on your hips, a neutral straight back (naturally, not forcing it), and your shoulders back and relaxed.

However, many of us sit down for most of the day and hunch forward which really isn’t great for you. It gets worse especially as we get older and this kind of slouching posture can lead to back and neck pain, spinal disfunction, joint degradation, etc.

It’s important that you take care of your posture once you notice that you’re hunching over to avoid any effects it can have on your body and health.

Some benefits of good posture include:

  • Reduced lower back and neck pain
  • Fewer headaches
  • Better breathing (increased lung capacity)
  • Increased energy levels
  • Improved circulation

If you notice that you are hunching over more, don’t worry. There are some simple changes you can make to your lifestyle that can improve your posture, like exercising regularly, lying flat on the ground for several minutes, wearing flat shoes, stretching, etc.

In this post we’re going to go through some simple stretching exercises that will help you in the long run!
