If you’ve ever wondered how Victoria’s Secret models maintain their toned, glowing physiques all year, not just before the runway, you’re not alone. The truth is, there’s no extreme ‘secret diet.’ Instead, their approach to food is surprisingly balanced, sustainable, and focused on long-term wellness.
In this article, we’ll break down what Victoria’s Secret models really eat, how their diets have evolved in recent years, and how you can apply their habits in a realistic, healthy way. :)
The Truth About the “Victoria’s Secret Diet”
Let’s clear up a common myth: most Victoria’s Secret models aren’t following starvation diets or strict restrictions all year long.
In reality, the modern approach, especially in recent years, focuses on:
- Nourishing the body rather than depriving it
- Fueling workouts and supporting recovery
- Maintaining energy, skin health, and hormonal balance
Many models now work closely with nutritionists and prioritize whole foods, flexibility, and consistency instead of chasing quick fixes.
What Victoria’s Secret Models Eat Daily
While everyone’s diet looks a little different, most models stick to a similar approach: clean, nutrient-rich meals that balance protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs.
Breakfast: Clean Energy to Start the Day
Typical breakfasts often include:
- Eggs with avocado and whole-grain toast
- Smoothies with protein powder, berries, spinach, and almond milk
- Oatmeal topped with nuts and fruit
These meals are meant to keep energy steady and help avoid blood sugar dips.

Lunch: Balanced and Filling
Lunch is usually a well-rounded meal:
- Grilled chicken or salmon
- Brown rice, quinoa, or sweet potatoes
- A large portion of vegetables
The focus is on lean protein + fiber-rich carbs + healthy fats to stay full and energized.
Dinner: Light but Nourishing
Dinner tends to be lighter but still satisfying:
- Fish or plant-based protein
- Steamed or roasted vegetables
- Sometimes a small portion of carbs
Models often prioritize digestion and recovery in the evening.
Snacks: Smart and Strategic
Snacking is common, and encouraged:
- Nuts and seeds
- Greek yogurt
- Protein bars or shakes
- Fresh fruit
Snacks help maintain energy levels and prevent overeating later.

Do Models Diet Before a Show?
Yes, but probably not in the way you’d expect. Before big events, some models might:
- Cut back on processed foods and sugar
- Add more protein and vegetables
- Focus on staying well hydrated
- Slightly reduce sodium to help minimize bloating
That said, extreme approaches are becoming less common as the industry moves toward prioritizing health and sustainability over unrealistic standards. :)
What Foods Do They Avoid?
Instead of labeling foods as strictly “off-limits,” models usually try to cut back on:
- Highly processed foods
- Too much added sugar
- Sugary drinks and alcohol (especially before shoots)
However, any models openly share that they still enjoy things like pizza, burgers, or dessert, just in moderation!

The New Era: Health Over Perfection
In recent years, Victoria’s Secret has gone through a meaningful shift, stepping away from rigid and outdated beauty standards. You can really see this reflected in the way models now approach food and wellness.
There’s now a stronger focus on mental health and body confidence, less pressure to stay extremely thin, and greater representation of different body types and lifestyles.
Today, the idea of a “VS diet” isn’t about strict rules or restriction, it’s much more about feeling strong, confident, nourished, and full of energy. :)
Can You Follow This Diet?
Absolutely! But the key is making it work for you and your own lifestyle. Here’s how you can approach it in a realistic, balanced way:
- Focus on whole, minimally processed foods
- Eat enough to fuel your daily activity and energy needs
- Avoid skipping meals or being overly restrictive
- Stay well hydrated throughout the day
- Leave room for flexibility (this is what makes it sustainable)
It’s also worth remembering that these models often have access to trainers, chefs, and personalized guidance, so your version should feel supportive, doable, and tailored to your life. :)

I’ve also put together a separate post on Victoria Secret Model Workouts, where you can take a closer look at how they train and stay in shape.
Final Thoughts
The real Victoria’s Secret approach to eating isn’t about perfection, it’s about finding balance that actually feels good.
At its core, it’s a lifestyle built on:
- Consistency instead of extremes
- Nourishment instead of restriction
- Confidence instead of comparison
If there’s one thing to take away, it’s this: it’s not about eating less, it’s about eating with intention, making thoughtful choices, and supporting your body for the long run.
And that’s something worth working toward, whether you’re on a runway or just living your everyday life. :)

Hi I am a sophomore cross country and track runner I run twice a day a mile of hills in the morning with box jump exercises then usally three miles at 8 minute mile pace then abs butt and arm workouts and I am still “skinny fat” with no muscles .do you have any tips of how to get lean toned muscles ?
Hi lovely,
If your goal is to slim down and get toned, following the right type of workouts and diet for your body type will help you achieve your goals faster so we should start with that. Feel free to take Rachael’s Body Type Quiz and tell us the results so we could give you some guidelines. You can email us at info@rachaelattard.com :)
Also, if your goal is to get lean and toned muscles and avoid any bulkiness, the best exercises to avoid are those where you can feel your quads burning. This includes squats, deadlifts, lunges, and overdoing it on the HIIT exercises including burpees, jump lunges, jump squats and box jumps.
I hope that helps. xx

Len
Hi, im a high school student, almost finishin high school, i did loose weight in december due to not really eating a lot and tend to stay on the weight but somewhere i started to pick up weight again, im going to try these things, and give it ago xx
Hi lovely,
Since you’re still considered underage, your body is still going through a lot of transformations so if you want to lose weight, it’s best you talk to your parents so they can get you an appointment with a specialist. A nutritionist can advise you on your nutrition and workouts so that you can achieve the results you wish in a healthy way that suits your age.
Wishing you the best of luck! xx
